PROJETO
Landslide Early Warning soft technology prototype to improve community resilience and
adaptation to environmental change
BeSafeSlide (BSS)
PROJECT
The BeSafeSlide (BSS) project aims to develop and implement a low cost and technologically accessible landslide early warning system prototype working with global changes scenarios. The BSS prototype will define warning communication procedures, assess response capacity of stakeholders and develop social capacity practices, reduce vulnerability and mitigate risk, providing a reduction of affected people, economic losses and critical infrastructures/basic services disruptions.
RESULTS
The first year of the BeSafeSlide project focused on the development of 4 tasks belonging to 3 Workpackages: Task 1 - Assessment of rainfall triggering thresholds for landslide activity (WP1); Task 2 - Static and dynamic landslide susceptibility and hazard assessment at the regional scale (WP1); Task 5 - Rainfall monitoring, rainfall forecast and landslide forecast (WP2); Task 11 - Creation and management of the BeSafeSlide project website (WP4).
